Just letting people know that YES, I made the Anthony Warlow mood theme; took a while but I got there ((I've tagged this entry 2008 just to keep it near the top; it's actually 2006 lol)). Here it is if you just wanna see them all. If you want to use it as your own, click here to download. Then credit and enjoy!

35th Colouring

Jun. 22nd, 2008 | 06:31 pm
music: The Desert Song (Blue Heaven) - Anthony Warlow

Just like Anthony Warlow, I'm Back in the Swing with my 35th colouring tutorial. Thought he looked rather pale in the original picture ((with that ruffle-liscious hair ... !)) so here's one to sprouce up the skin and - you guessed it - the blues.

I just had to, okay? With hair like that ... could you resist?!

NOTE: If you are a newbie to icon making and you don't understand what's written here, you can always ask me or refer to my 22nd Colouring Tutorial, which was written entirely for beginners ((hence why it explains all the basic steps)).

NOTE 2: If you use, please credit! Don't steal my icons and tuts and claim them as your own 'cause I will FIND OUT WHO YOU ARE.

*ahem*

NOTE 3: I don't know if this actually works on PS as when I opened the .psd in PS the image looked a lot different to when I opened it on PSP ... plus I can't find Fade Correction on PS. Asked a friend who has PS and she isn't aware of that function. Sorry PS users.

34th Colouring

Jun. 21st, 2008 | 04:03 pm
music: Love Changes Everything - Anthony Warlow

With Unexpected Song's LSS Mini-Convention on the horizon, here's my 34th colouring tutorial once again featuring Anthony Warlow during a photo shoot for The Phantom of the Opera ((the original pic and more can be found at ... umm ... wireimage.com?)). There are other icon examples below, plus the image the colouring originated from ((meaning, what I made before I decided to make icons with this colouring)). Please note that this works well for pale people against dark backgrounds; it doesn't work with everything, but as always this is just a guide and the fun is in tweeking ((I do understand it's a bit ... pinky red. If you take a look back through my other tutorials they mostly focus on blues, so here's me trying something new ... ish ...)).

Oh, and apologies for making the banner look a bit ... tacky. Funny how restrictions hinder my work.

33rd Colouring

Apr. 15th, 2008 | 08:33 pm
music: It's Only a Paper Moon - Nat King Cole

FINALLY, at long last, here is the crummy tutorial I've been promising you, featuring the ever loveable Professor Remus Lupin.  I did this to not only brighten the image but also to enhance his skin whilst keeping a good reflection of blue ... and let's face it, there's a lot of blue.

Black and Grey Floral Textures

Apr. 15th, 2008 | 03:54 pm
music: Phantom of the Opera - Anthony Warlow

Okay, I made this set two days ago and didn't think they were half bad, so I've decided to share them. Uploading textures isn't going to be a regular thing for me but I might as well share what I've got, as someone out there might find a use for them.

Yes, my first texture set! Some of these you may recognise these textures from the big batch of Harry Potter icons I did last ((the tutorial for which I keep forgetting to do, but it's the holidays now so I promise, some time over the next two weeks!)), so now here they are if you want them. Remember to credit if you take and use, and enjoy!

The Harry Potter icons are now ...

... public.

Remember how I said I wanted to make that one text icon before I revealed it?

Didn't happen.

I will make it someday, of course, but for now I'm just going to open MMFM Harry Potter to the public. I've also made four new Anthony Warlow icons and I've put them up too. I really want to do more icons of him; really good ones. The colouring on the four new ones I'll turn into another tut - which reminds me, I will put up the next tut concerning all those HP icons ... just not tonight. Maybe in a week's time. So keep an eye out, I will be posting two new tuts.

Angel of Music, I denied you ...

Jan. 15th, 2008 | 09:40 pm
location: Beneath the opera house, floating on air
mood: Sing, my Angel of Music ... Sing, my Angel of Music ...
music: My Prayer - Anthony Warlow

I've held off long enough; I have told my tale on Unexpected Song, on MySpace, and ... that's all. So now - all you Warlovians, all you phans, and all you musical theatre buffs - I will share my tale with you. I will share the news I was bursting to tell the world once it occurred yet kept to myself until I returned home.

I will share with you the words from my Angel of Music, Anthony Warlow.

Close Enc-Ant-ers.

Each link in that first post leads to member's encounters - obviously - with Anthony Warlow. If you click the one with my name ((Marie-Cris)) it will lead you to the post in that thread which houses the pictures; the post which also houses the links to my review / letters to Unexpected Song I wrote during my one-week's holiday in Melbourne ((7 - 11 / 1 / 08)), explaining what I went through, what I felt about each showing of Phantom of the Opera ((which made it my second and third showing of Phantom and, in fact, any musical to date)), and more importantly, what happened after the shows.

Since you're on the site, do take the time to look over the Phantom of the Opera Australian Cast Recording and / or Filmed Stage Performance (Starring Anthony Warlow) Petition. So far we have 365 signatures ((plus something else, if you take the time to read the review / letters)). We aim for more, of course; will you add your name to the list?

Follow the linked banner to the petition thread. Feel free to grab any of the banner codes and help advertise; we would really appreciate it.

Phantom of the Opera Australian Cast Recording and / or Filmed Stage Performance Petition

Oct. 7th, 2007 | 07:42 pm
mood: cheerful cheerful
music: That's All - Anthony Warlow

Long-winded, eh?

Well, it is what it says; last week I made a petition on my forum to see if enough people cared about Phantom of the Opera in Australia, as well as Anthony Warlow ((fans both national and international)). It's been 9 days since the original post and so far we've managed to get 58 signatures both nationally and internationally.

But what is it all for, you ask? Didn't quite understand the title? Ah, that's okay. What you need to know is our goal; that being to see if we can get an Australian Cast Recording and / or Filmed Stage Performance of Phantom of the Opera starring Anthony Warlow. Do I have contacts in high places? No. Not yet ... I'm just hoping people will show support for the cause. Also that along the way we might end up meeting someone who's not only interested in seeing our aspirations come true, but who also has an influential hand who will be able to assist us if this project truly does get off the ground. If it does, not only will it mean that AT LAST, WE GET ANOTHER AUSTRALIAN CAST RECORDING OF SOMETHING!!! *cough*, but those who are unable to see the show in its two year' lifespan ((be it due to schedules or financial reasons, et cetera)) will have the opportunity to hear and / or see it when / if such recordings are released ((this would definitely benefit those of international *coughandruralcough* origins)). I know there are quite a number of Phans, Warlovians and musical theatre buffs in the world, and it would be nice to see and know that the majority of them would approve of such recordings.

I mean, who wouldn't?

So please, if you're a Phan, Warlovian, musical theatre buff and / or know someone who is, please let your attentions be drawn to the petition thread via either of the linked banners below ((feel free to use them to spread the word; I'll post more when / if I've made them)). If you don't want to register but still want to sign, that's okay; just contact me here, or in the post I made in the [info]anthonywarlow community, or even at my MySpace, GaiaOnline and LastFM accounts ((just search for "Marie-Cris"; there's only two of me that I know of floating around in cyberspace so if you come across one that doesn't mention Anthony Warlow anywhere, you know you've got the wrong one [plus she's an American gangsta; I'm obviously not])). If all else fails, e-mail me *coughprofilecough*. Oh, there's also the Yahoo! group for Anthony Warlow that I've made this post in; I don't use Yahoo! often, but it's good for spreading any Warlovian goss. XD

Please show your support. Spread the word. Spread the love.

Why ... Why why why why why did I do it? I only wanted Remus! *sigh* Oh well, here's a very simple colour enhancement trick for dark caps feat. Harry Potter:

*ahem*

Little word of warning: This doesn't work with everything; so far I've only had it work on the playground scene in PoA and when I tried it on others like the train scene they just turned out rather red and saturated; it's all a matter of luck and, of course, tweeking ;)

Hope you like my tuts and please remember to credit; credit is love :D Enjoy!
